Texas A&M Competes in Haunted Horned Frog Classic in Fort Worth

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M women's tennis team returns to Fort Worth this weekend to compete in the Haunted Horned Frog Classic, hosted by TCU at the Bayard H Friedman Tennis Center.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M women's tennis team returns to Fort Worth this weekend to compete in the Haunted Horned Frog Classic, hosted by TCU at the Bayard H Friedman Tennis Center.
 
Other teams represented at the three-day competition are Baylor, Middle Tennessee State, Northwestern State and Rice.
 
"We have made some great strides over the course of the last week or so since regionals, and we are excited to get out and compete again this weekend against some more strong competition," A&M head coach Mark Weaver said.
 
The Aggies, who most recently competed in the ITA Texas Regional Championships, Oct. 13-16, at TCU, open doubles play Friday at 12:15 p.m. at the indoor courts, with A&M's three doubles teams being paired up against two doubles teams from Rice and a team from Northwestern State. A&M also will compete in doubles against TCU and Baylor at 1 p.m. Friday's action concludes with A&M doubles teams taking on teams from Middle Tennessee State and Northwestern State at 3:15 p.m.
 
Two rounds of singles will be played on Saturday starting at 11:30 a.m. on the outdoor courts. Five A&M players will be competing in singles and open against players from Rice and Northwestern State. At 3:30 p.m., A&M faces representatives from TCU and Baylor, and those matches will be live streamed on https://www.playsight.com/#/livestreaming/tennis/tcu
 
On Sunday at 10:30 a.m., A&M will face a combination of players from Middle Tennessee State and Northwestern State in singles to conclude the event.
 
The Aggies have only one more individual tournament remaining until January, as they compete in the UNLV Rebel Invitational in Las Vegas, Nov. 10-12. A&M will compete in the Hawaii Invitational in Honolulu, Jan. 6-8, 2018, before beginning team dual match play on January 13.
