INDIAN WELLS, CA – Texas A&M men's tennis will be represented by senior Jordi Arconada and sophomore Valentin Vacherot at the 2017 Oracle ITA National Fall Championships beginning Wednesday morning at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden in Indian Wells, California.
The Oracle ITA National Fall Championships will feature a 64-player singles draw, while doubles consist of a 32-team draw. Matches will take place at the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort & Spa and the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. Players qualified for the tournament through designated placings at earlier ITA National Championships and the ITA Regional Championships Presented by Oracle.
No. 93 Vacherot earned a berth in the Fall Championships after advancing to the ITA Men's All-American Championship consolation finals earlier this month in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Frenchman danced through the consolation bracket with wins over a trio of ranked players including a pair of Georgia Bulldogs. Vacherot will take on Kevin Konfederak of Georgia Gwinnett in the first round at 1:15 p.m. (CT).
No. 36 Arconada earned the No. 15 seed at the premier fall tournament of the collegiate tennis season after an impressive fall campaign. The right-hander advanced to the ITA Regional semifinals in College Station before falling to No. 40 Johannes Schretter of Baylor. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native, will take on No. 49 Billy Griffith of Cal in Wednesday's first round at 1:00 p.m. (CT).
