Aggie Women Compete at SMU 2017 Fall Metroplex Mania

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Three members of the Texas A&M women's tennis team will compete in the three-day SMU 2017 Fall Metroplex Mania beginning Friday at the SMU Tennis Complex, Turpin Stadium & Brookshire Family Pavilion in Dallas.
Doubles matches begin at 11 a.m. Friday and Saturday followed by singles matches. Times of the Sunday matches are to be determined
"We are looking forward to competing this weekend at SMU and getting in some good, quality matches," Texas A&M head coach Mark Weaver said. "This will be the first tournament of the fall for a several of our girls who will be getting in some much needed tournament play. Coach [Jordan] Szabo and I are very pleased with the way practices have been going over the course of the last several weeks, and we feel that we are ready to perform well this weekend in Dallas."
Aggie redshirt sophomore transfer Margo Taylor, who hails from Dallas, will be making her A&M debut, and senior Macarena Olivares will make her first appearance of the fall as the two will be paired in the eight-team #1 doubles flight. They take on Stefana Andrei and Karolina Snita of Louisiana-Monroe in the first round. Aggie freshman Riley McQuaid also will compete in doubles and will team with SMU's Tiffany Hollebeck in the #3 doubles flight.
The three Aggies also will compete in singles. Olivares faces Kristen Rehse of Georgia Southern in the first round of the eight-player #1 singles draw. McQuaid will compete in the #3 singles draw and will open against Nini Memishishi of Abilene Christian. Taylor will take on Ileana Mocciola of ACU in the #6 singles draw.
Other schools represented in the tournament include Arizona and Texas-Arlington.
