WASHINGTON, D.C. – Texas A&M's national champion men's track and field team visited the White House on Friday and had a group picture with President Donald Trump to celebrate the 2017 NCAA Indoor team title the Aggies claimed last March in College Station.
Â
"It's a tremendous honor," said Texas A&M head coach Pat Henry. "It was fantastic to win the national championship, and for this group of young people to be invited to the White House is an once-in-a-lifetime occurrence. I'm really proud to take this group up here.
Â
"I've had the opportunity to go the White House a few times. It's always a little bit different, and the President always makes it a little bit different, which ever President is in office."
Â
Texas A&M track and field teams also visited the White House in 2010 after the Aggie men and women swept the NCAA Outdoor team titles.
