Softball Gears Up For Game One of Maroon & White Series

COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M softball begins its annual Maroon & White Series Friday at 4 p.m. at the Aggie Softball Complex. Admission to the intra-squad scrimmage is free.

The Aggies, who return 15 letterwinners from last year's team, split into two teams for the three-game series with game two scheduled for Nov. 13 and the finale slated for Nov. 16.
 
The Maroon team consists of Kaitlyn Alderink, Maddie MacGrandle, Hannah Mayo, Miranda Miles, Keeli Milligan, Gabby Moreno, Erica Russell, Riley Sartain, Abby Smith, Lexi Smith and Tori Vidales.
 
Representing White is Kristen Cuyos, Dani Elder, Kelbi Fortenberry, Blake-Ann Fritsch, Kylie George, Trinity Harrington, Sarah Hudek, Payton McBride, Randi Carol Phillips, Kayla Poynter, Samantha Show and Ashley Walters.
 
Texas A&M is coming off a doubleheader sweep over Blinn to begin the fall season. Show tossed a perfect game with eight strikeouts in game one as the Aggies topped the Buccaneers, 10-0. In game two, Harrington and Payton McBride tossed a combined shutout, leading Texas A&M to a 7-0 victory.
 
Offensively, Hudek powered the Aggies going 5-for-6 Wednesday with a home run, a triple and four runs scored. Fritsch added a 3-for-4 day at the plate with a double and a RBI, and Milligan recorded three hits and two stolen bases.
