Swimming's Olson named SEC Freshman of the Week

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas A&M freshman swimmer Tanner Olson was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week on Tuesday after helping the Aggies to the team title at the Art Adamson Invitational last weekend.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Texas A&M freshman swimmer Tanner Olson was named Southeastern Conference Freshman of the Week on Tuesday after helping the Aggies to the team title at the Art Adamson Invitational last weekend.
 
Olson, from Saugus, Calif., posted a trio of NCAA "B" qualifying cuts of 53.76 in the 100-yard breaststroke, 1:55.65 in the 200 breast and 1:48.65 in the 200 IM. Olson also logged a pair of third-place individual finishes in the 100 breaststroke and the 200 breaststroke.
 
On Texas A&M's all-time top 10 list, Olson moved to No. 3 in the 200 breast and No. 7 in the 100 breast.
 
Additionally, Olson contributed a 50 freestyle split of 20.17 on the 200 free relay, a 50 breaststroke split of 24.33 in the 200 medley relay and a 100 breaststroke split of 53.05 in the 400 medley relay.
