COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M senior golfer Cameron Champ has announced his intention to forgo his remaining college golf eligibility and join the professional ranks.

A year ago, Champ put together one of best seasons in program history by maintaining a 71.50 scoring average during 34 rounds as a junior to garner third-team All-America honors from the Golf Coaches Association of America. He enjoyed one tournament title and five top-five finishes while posting a red-hot finish to the year with top-six finishes in five of his last seven events while also earning First Team All-SEC accolades.

The Sacramento, Calif., native finishes his Texas A&M career with 11 total top-10 finishes and a 72.45 stroke average in 84 total rounds. Champ turned heads this summer as he stood out as only one of two amateurs to make the cut during the 2017 U.S. Open at Erin Hills before representing the United States at the Walker Cup in Los Angeles.
