ATLANTA – Texas A&M junior guard Danni Williams was one of 50 players named to the Citizen Naismith Trophy Preseason Watch List. Named in honor of Dr. James Naismith, the Naismith Trophy recognizes the top Men's and Women's College Basketball Players of the Year.

Williams is averaging 17.0 points per game this season, scoring at least 14 points and making at least two 3-pointers in every game this season. She currently ranks third in the SEC, and top 50 in the nation, with a 47.8 3-point field goal percentage. In 2016-17, she ranked sixth in the SEC with 16.6 points per game, earning Second Team All-SEC honors.

Williams is one of nine SEC players on the watch list. Players who do not make the Watch List are still eligible to be selected for the midseason 30 list, which is announced on Feb. 12, 2018.
