COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The No. 22 Texas A&M Aggies travel to Alabama to open up SEC play Friday at Auburn. Match time is set for 6:30 pm.
The Maroon & White are looking to build on their most brilliant offensive performance since 2014. The Aggies toppled No. 19 Kansas, 5-1, Sunday, the most goals for Texas A&M in a game since Nov. 21, 2014 when they toppled Arizona, 7-2. The output was the most for the Aggies in a road match since beating Vanderbilt 6-2 in Nashville on October 10, 2014. The five goals marked the most for the Aggies' in a game against a Top 25 team since throttling then-No. 5 Texas, 6-0, in Austin on November 2, 2001.
Cienna Arrieta leads the Aggies with five points on one goal and three assists. Jimena Lopez and Haley Pounds each have two goals. Cosette Morché has played all 564 minutes in goal with a 0.80 goals-against average and three shutouts.
Auburn is coming off a 3-1 victory over High Point last Friday. The Tigers had their match against Alabama State, slated for last Sunday, cancelled due to Hurricane Irma.
The Tigers have a pair of players with seven points, including Kristen Dodson with three goals and one assist and Bri Folds with two goals and three assists. Other notables on the offensive end, including Courtney Schell with three goals and Alyssa Malonson with a team-high four assists. Sarah Le Beau has played all 662 minutes in goal for Auburn, logging a 1.63 goals-against average and two shutouts.
