Texas A&M’s Mathews named to Australia’s Commonwealth Games team

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M freshman diver Kurtis Mathews was named to Australia's Commonwealth Games roster and will compete in the prestigious international event in his home country in early April.
 
Mathews, from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia, will see action in the one- and three-meter springboard and the three-meter synchro in the Commonwealth Games, which are contested every four years and comprised of competitors from the Commonwealth of Nations. The 2018 edition will be held April 4-15 in Gold Coast, Queensland, Australia.  
 
The Texas A&M men's team will send two divers to the Commonwealth Games with senior Tyler Henschel (Canada) and Mathews competing in the event.
