COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M women's tennis team concludes its pre-conference schedule Sunday as the Aggies play host to the UCF Knights. The first-ever meeting between the two programs begins at noon at the George P. Mitchell Tennis Center.

Fans will notice a familiar face donning the opposing black and gold as former Aggie three-sport letterwinner and women's tennis two-time All-American Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar (2012-13), who led the Aggies to the 2013 NCAA national championship match, is an assistant coach for the Knights.

General admission seating is free. Stadium Club season tickets, valid for all men's and women's regular-season home matches, are available for purchase at https://aggi.es/2D87J8f.

The Aggies are coming off back-to-back victories at SMU and TCU last weekend to improve to 9-1 and equal the 2007, 2012 and 2013 A&M squads for the best start in program history after 10 matches. UCF, 6-2 and ranked an all-time high No. 28 in the Oracle/ITA Division I rankings, suffered a 4-1 loss against the 46th-ranked Horned Frogs on Friday in Fort Worth. The loss snapped the Knights' four-match winning streak, which included a 5-2 upset at No. 16 Baylor.

"This will be our final non-conference match and at a minimum will be a great match for our team as we head into our loaded SEC field of play," said Mark Weaver, who is in his third season as head coach of the Aggies. "UCF is off to very good start this season as they have already beaten No. 15 South Carolina and No. 16 Baylor. And of course we welcome back to Aggieland Cristina Sanchez-Quintanar, who I had the pleasure of sharing some great times, incredible journeys and amazing achievements with during her playing career here at Texas A&M."

No. 97th-ranked Domenica Gonzalez and freshman Riley McQuaid both improved to a team-best 10-0 in singles in dual matches after posting wins in the Aggies' come-from-behind 4-3 victory at TCU on Sunday. McQuaid also improved to 4-0 in doubles with freshman partner Dorthea Faa-Hviding, who won the last singles match standing against the Frogs to secure the win for A&M. Since starting dual match play, the Aggies are a combined 48-11 (.814) in singles and 12-3 (.800) in doubles.

UCF lost the doubles point for the first time this season at TCU. In singles, Ksenia Kuznestova scored the only point for the Knights with a 6-2, 7-6 (7-5) victory over 82nd-ranked Aleksandra Zenovka at the No. 1 line.

The Aggies open SEC play next weekend at the Mitchell Tennis Center, where they will face back-to-back top-20 teams. A&M plays host to No. 18 Tennessee (11-0), currently the only remaining undefeated team in the SEC, on Friday at 5 p.m. and then welcomes No. 6 Georgia to town on Sunday for a 12 p.m. contest.
