Szeryk One Stroke Off The Lead To Put Women’s Golf In Fourth After 36 Holes In Hawaii

KANE'OHE, Hawai'i- Maddie Szeryk shot a 2-over 146 and is just one shot off the lead, to lead the Texas A&M women's golf team after 36 holes at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course.

KANE'OHE, Hawai'i- Maddie Szeryk shot a 2-over 146 and is just one shot off the lead, to lead the Texas A&M women's golf team after 36 holes at the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at Kane'ohe Klipper Golf Course.
 
The Aggies are tied for fourth with a 44-over 620 over the two rounds in the opening day of the tournament, shooting 303-317 on the par 72 / 6,096 yard course. No. 6 Texas leads the tournament with a 13-over 589 after two rounds. The Aggies are looking for their sixth Top 5 finish in eight events this season.
 
Szeryk, last year's individual champion at the event, sits one stroke behind Texas' Kaitlyn Papp after the first day of play, notching her 16th par-or-better round of the season with an even par 72 in the second round, following a 2-over 74 to open the day.
 
Courtney Dow is tied for 14th, shooting 72-81=153 (+9) on a Tuesday where the field averaged 80.9 strokes per round. Chloe Velasco is tied for 44th with a 77-84=161 (+12), two strokes ahead of teammate Amber Park, who is tied for 46th with a 80-82=162 (+18). Elizabeth Caldarelli shot a 90-82=172 (+28) to tie for 64th to round out the Aggie lineup. Ariana Saenz, competing as an individual, shot an 83-83=166 (+22) to tie for 54th.
 
The Aggies tee off in the third and final round of the Dr. Donnis Thompson Invitational at 1 p.m. CT on Wednesday. Live Scoring is available on golfstat.com.
