BIRMINGHAM – The opening weekend of the outdoor track and field season produced a pair of SEC honors for Aggies Devin Dixon and Julia Madubuike, who were each selected as the conference Runner of the Week.

Dixon, who shared the honor with Georgia's Bryan Kamau, improved his career best in the 400m to 45.96 from lane three as the top collegian finisher in the Baldy Castillo Invitational. The 2017 SEC Outdoor and 2018 SEC Indoor 800m champion improved his previous best of 46.91 in the 400m from 2016, his senior year in high school.

Madubuike won the 200m at the Castillo Invitational in 23.30, which is currently the top time in the SEC and third among collegians. Madubuike, who has the top freshman time in the event outdoors, also anchored the Aggie 4x100 to a 43.47 victory and ran the first leg, with a 53.6 split, on the winning 4x400 relay that posted a time of 3:37.84.

This week Texas A&M travels to San Antonio for the UTSA Roadrunner Invitational. In addition to the Aggies and Roadrunners, teams scheduled to compete include Akron, Baylor, Kansas State, Maryland, Stephen F. Austin, TCU, Texas, Texas State and Virginia Commonwealth.
