TEXAS A&M QUOTES
Head Coach Rob Childress
On getting the bounce back win...
"Obviously we didn't want to give up all the walks today, but I was proud of how we battled. Both teams were fighting hard to get a win after disappointing losses yesterday. It was great to pull out this win in front of a great crowd. It was a terrific atmosphere tonight. A regional type atmosphere.
On the pitching for Sunday...
"We emptied the tank today on the mound. We'll need Mitchell (Kilkenny) to give us some length tomorrow and some young guys will be counted on out of the bullpen."
On what Allonte Wingate brings to the team...
"He was a late addition in the summer and we are very fortunate to get him. He's a player who is willing to do anything for the team. He gives us a lot of versatility both in the field and at the plate."
On Will Frizzell's play as a freshman...
"Like Zach (DeLoach), he's very advanced for a freshman. He is very patient at the plate and willing to talk his walks. Very mature for a freshman."
Junior catcher Cole Bedford
On putting down a sac bunt one plate appearance after hitting a home run...
"I'll do whatever the team needs me to do. In a way, the bunt is much more satisfying than the home run. It set up two runs. The home run was just a solo shot."
Senior pitcher Kaylor Chafin
On what he did after Friday's tough outing...
"I just tried to get away from baseball. I was around Mitchell (Kilkenny) most of the day and we pretty much talked about anything but baseball. I came to the field today with the mindset I had last year. I want the ball when the team needs outs."
