Aggies Blitz Houston, 5-0, to Finish Spring Slate

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies closed out their spring schedule with a 5-0 victory over the Houston Cougars at Ellis Field Friday evening.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies closed out their spring schedule with a 5-0 victory over the Houston Cougars at Ellis Field Friday evening.

The Maroon & White overwhelmed the Cougars, owning wide margins in shots (29-5), shots-on-goal (11-1) and corner kicks (11-0).

The Aggies notched a pair of first half goals with Cienna Arrieta scoring on an assist from Emily Bates in the 14th minute and Ally Watt adding a tally in the 17th minute.

Texas A&M sent the Cougars into the intermission licking their wounds as the Aggies owned a 15-4 edge in shots and 6-1 margin in shots-on-goal.

The offense was unrelenting for the Maroon & White in the second half. Brittany Crabtree scored goals off the foot in the 54th with help from Bates and off the head on an assist from Watt in the 62nd minute, sandwiched around Watt's second goal of the match in the 61st minute with an assist from Macie Kolb.

The Aggies end the spring with a 3-1-0 mark against collegiate opposition, including wins over Rice (1-0), Lamar (5-0) and Houston (5-0).

Texas A&M returns to action August 11th with an exhibition match at Ellis Field against the TCU Horned Frogs.
