COLLEGE STATION – Eight members of the Texas A&M equestrian team earned nine Ariat NCEA All-America honors, the NCEA Selection Committee announced Wednesday. The nine honors are the most in school history as the NCEA began honoring All-Americans in 2011.

Rebekah Chenelle (Equitation over Fences), Avery Ellis (Horsemanship) and Rachael Hake (Fences) earned first team honors. Chenelle (Equitation on the Flat) and Alex Desiderio (Fences) were named to the second team, and Bailey Cook (Horsemanship), Caroline Dance (Fences), Ashley Davidson (Horsemanship) and Kalee McCann (Reining) earned honorable mention.

Chenelle is the first Aggie to earn multiple All-America honors in the same season and leads the team with 11 wins in Flat and two Most Outstanding Player (MOP) honors. The junior went 4-2 during SEC play in the regular season and recorded a 16-point victory at the SEC Championship. In Fences, Chenelle registers an 11-3-3 mark with five MOPs. The Hebron, Conn., native went 2-0 with a MOP at the SEC Championship and posted an average score of 168.5 at the event. Chenelle helped lead the Fences squad to a 14-3 record and the No. 1 seed at the NCEA Championships.

Ellis, who earned first team honors last season, posts a team-best 12-3-1 record with four MOPs. The College Station native went 5-0-1 against SEC competitors in the regular season and posted an average score of 74.7. At the SEC Championship, Ellis went 1-1 with an average score of 151.

Hake, who was named to the first team in Fences a year ago, has recorded a team-leading 13 victories with two MOPs in Fences. The senior ended the regular season with seven consecutive victories and went 1-1 at the SEC Championship. In the last two season, Hake has amassed a 29-5-1 record in the event, which is the highest win total in a two-year span in program history.
Desiderio holds a 12-4-1 record with two MOPs. The senior went a perfect 2-0 at the SEC Championship, and posted three wins in SEC action during the regular season.

Cook has compiled a 10-5-1 mark with two MOPs. The Fort Collins, Colo., native registered a 4-2 record in conference play and holds an average score of 74.2. The senior posted a season-high score of 76.5 against Georgia and Fresno State.

Dance holds an 12-4 record with three MOPs and is coming off a 2-0 weekend at the SEC Championship. The freshman won three points in SEC play in the regular season including a MOP against Auburn in November.

Davidson is third on the team with nine wins and one MOP. Davidson began the spring schedule with four-straight victories and has posted season-high scores of 77 twice. McCann leads the Reining squad with nine victories and has also been named MOP twice. The Sebastopol, Miss., native was named MOP vs. South Carolina with a season-high score of 74 and finished the regular season with an adjusted NRS score of 76.79.

Georgia, Auburn, and Texas A&M all collected the most All-America citations with nine, followed by Oklahoma State with six. Auburn and Georgia had the most first-team All-America awards with four, followed by Texas A&M who had three.
