TIJUANA, Mexico – Standout performances by six Texas A&M swimmers at the Mexican National Championships put them on Mexico's team that will compete in the 2018 Central American & Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Columbia this summer.
Earning spots on Team Mexico were Mauro Castillo Luna, Mateo Gonzalez and Angel Martinez from the men's team and Esther Gonzalez and Monika Gonzalez-Hermosillo from the women's squad. Also making the team was 2014 senior Liliana Ibanez.

Mauro Castillo: 50 breaststroke, 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke
Mateo Gonzalez: 50 butterfly, butterfly
Angel Martinez: 200 butterfly
Esther Gonzalez: 100 breaststroke, 200 breaststroke, 200 IM, 400 IM
Monika Gonzalez: 200 IM, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle, 400 IM
Liliana Ibanez: 50 freestyle, 100 freestyle, 200 freestyle, 50 butterfly

- Ibanez also won a trio of national titles with wins in the 50 and 100 free and the 50 butterfly.
