COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M men's and women's swimming and diving teams celebrated the accomplishments of the 2017-18 season at the annual team banquet on Saturday at the All-American Club at Kyle Field.
The 2017-18 season saw the women's team win its third-straight Southeastern Conference team title and match its highest national finish with a second consecutive third place effort at the NCAA Championships. The men's team placed second at the SEC Championships for its highest finish since joining the elite league and went on to finish 14th at the NCAA Championships.
Highlighting the afternoon was the naming of the season MVPs. From the women's team, senior Bethany and junior Sydney Pickrem shared the swimming honor, while junior Alaïs Kalonji took the diving MVP award. On the men's side, senior diver Tyler Henschel and senior swimmer Mauro Castillo shared the team MVP award.
