STILLWATER, Okla.- Texas A&M senior Maddie Szeryk fired a 2-under 70 and moved into a tie for eighth after Saturday's second round of the 2018 NCAA Women's Golf Championship.

Szeryk holds a 1-under 143 after two rounds at Karsten Creek Golf Club, and is just four strokes behind a three-way tie for the lead at 4-under with two rounds left to play. Szeryk, who finished 13th at last year's event in Sugar Grove, Ill., is looking to be the fifth Texas A&M individual to finish in the top 10 at the NCAA Championship.

The two-time All-American birdied the 166-yard par 3 3rd, and was even par through seven holes. She rattled off three consecutive birdies on holes 8-10. The Allen, Texas native birdied the 482-yard par 5 18th for the second consecutive day to conclude her NCAA record 91st career par-or-better round.

Her nine birdies through 36 holes tie for the second-most in the tournament.

After three rounds, only the top 15 teams and the top nine individuals not on those teams, which would currently include Szeryk, advance to the final round.

Szeryk tees off in the third round on the par 72/6,328-yard home course of the Oklahoma State golf teams at 8:25 a.m. Sunday. Live scoring is available at golfstat.com.
