STILLWATER, Okla. – After winning the NCAA Bryan Regional in record-setting fashion, the No. 2 Texas A&M men's golf team takes another step on its march toward a national championship Friday when the Aggies tee off at the NCAA Division I Championship at Karsten Creek Golf Club in Stillwater, Okla.
Texas A&M will tee off its opening round at 12:20 p.m. alongside golfers from top-ranked Oklahoma State and defending national champion Oklahoma. The Aggies will be making their 31st appearance NCAA Championship and its first since 2014.
In Stillwater, the Aggies will be looking to add an exclamation point to an already impressive season that has seen the team win a school-record six team victories finished in the top three in 10 of 13 tournaments this season.
"I think we're really confident heading into Nationals," Texas A&M head coach J.T. Higgins said. "The guys are playing well and coming off a great finish at Regionals. Karsten Creek sets up really well for us. It's similar to Traditions with big fairways, but if you miss them you're in a lot of trouble. It's also got pretty severe green complexes. I think we're peaking at the right time and looking forward to it."
Texas A&M enters the NCAA Tournament ranked No. 2 in both the GolfStat and Golfweek/Sagarin rankings while checking in at No. 3 nationally in the Bushnell Golfweek Coaches Poll.
