COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies had three players named to the 2018 SEC All-Tournament Team released following Sunday's championship game.
The Aggies to earn the honor included pitcher John Doxakis, first baseman Chris Andritsos and second baseman Michael Helman.
Doxakis was the talk of the tournament Thursday when he took a no-hitter into the eighth inning against Auburn. He finished the game allowing one run on two hits and two hit batsmen while striking out 10 in 7.1 innings.
On the season, Doxakis is 7-5 with a 2.89 ERA and 80 strikeouts in 87.1 innings. He is holding opponents to a .221 batting average.
Helman led the Aggies at the plate with a .375 (6-for-16) batting average and he added two runs, one hit-by-pitch and one RBI.
On the season, Helman leads the Aggies with a .366 batting average, .453 on-base percentage, 56 runs, 86 hits, 14 doubles and 12 stolen bases. He's added one triple ans six home runs on the year.
Andritsos hit .267 (4-for-15) with team highs in runs (3), home runs (2) and RBI (4).
On the season, Andritsos is batting .277 with 21 runs, five doubles, one triple, seven home runs and 29 RBI.
The Aggies advanced to the semifinal round of the SEC Tournament with wins over Vanderbilt (3-1), Georgia (7-0) and Auburn (4-2) before suffering a 2-1 loss to Ole Miss. It marked Texas A&M's third trip to the tournament semifinal round in the last four years.
