COLLEGE STATION, Texas—The Texas A&M athletics program is currently in 12th place in the 2017-18 Division I Learfield Sports Directors' Cup rankings. The Aggies are currently the second ranked Southeastern Conference school.

"We are proud of our overall athletics program and the desire to push forward with even better results," Texas A&M Director of Athletics Scott Woodward said. "We want our student-athletes to have the very best collegiate experience in the country and that includes winning championships and competing at the highest level."

The Aggies have finished in the final Top 25 the past 12 years with four Top 10 finishes including a school-record fifth place finish in 2012-13, the Aggies' first year in the Southeastern Conference.

The current rankings include points for men's and women's golf, men's and women's lacrosse, women's rowing, softball, men's and women's tennis, men's volleyball, women's water polo and beach volleyball.

Three spring programs posted Top 10 finishes with Coach Steve Denton and the Aggie men's tennis team leading the way by placing third in the NCAA Championships to earn 83 points. Coach J.T. Higgins and the men's golf team finished fifth at the NCAA Championships to post 72.75 points. Coach Jo Evans and the women's softball team reached the NCAA Super Regionals to earn 64 points.

Coach Mark Weaver and the women's tennis team reached the second round of the NCAA Championships to post 50 points and the women's golf team placed 28th to score 46.5 points.

The next set of Division I standings will be released Thursday, June 14, which will include men's and women's track and field. The final standings will be released immediately following the NCAA College Baseball World Series.
