Three players who enjoyed success at Ellis Field are continuing their exploits this season in the National Women's Soccer League. Shea Groom, Merritt Mathias and Alyssa Mautz are all playing integral parts for their respective NWSL clubs as the league enters the midway point of the season.

After three seasons as a standout with the FC Kansas City, Groom is in her first year as a forward for Sky Blue FC. The 2014 All-American has played in 10 games this season, including seven starts. She has registered one goal on the season. In 2016, Groom became the first Aggie to earn All-NWSL recognition, as she was named to the Second XI.

Playing her first season with the North Carolina Courage, Merritt Mathias has started 12 matches and registered one goal from the backline. Her lone tally was named Goal of the Week by the NWSL on April 24. The Courage hold a sizable 12-point lead in the NWSL standings as the league hits the midway point. The two-time All-Big 12 performer currently ranks fourth on the NWSL's career games played list with 112.

On June 12, Mathias joined Bryn Blalack as the Aggies who earned caps with the United States Women's National Team as she played 13 minutes as a reserve in a match against China.

In her sixth season with the Chicago Red Stars, Mautz has played in 13 games, earning 10 starts. She has three goals and two assists on the season. The midfielder recently moved into seventh place on the NWSL career games played list with 108. She has 15 goals and seven assists for her career.
