COLLEGE STATION, Texas – June wrapped up with six Aggies on Major League Baseball rosters. The list includes Daniel Mengden (Oakland Athletics), A.J. Minter (Atlanta Braves), Tyler Naquin (Cleveland Indians), Ross Stripling (Los Angeles Dodgers), Michael Wacha (St. Louis Cardinals) and Alex Wilson (Detroit Tigers).

Highlights from the month include Wacha taking a no-hitter into the ninth inning against the Pittsburgh Pirates on June 3 and Stripling stringing together a six-game win streak. Stripling (5th – 2.27) and Wacha (10th – 3.20) are both among the National League leaders in earned run average.

Daniel Mengden – Oakland Athletics
Mengden has made 16 starts on the season, going 6-6 with a 4.74 ERA. After a strong May in which he went 4-1 with a 1.51 ERA, Mengden was hampered by a foot injury in June and closed out the month on the 10-day Disabled List.

A.J. Minter – Atlanta Braves
Minter continues his strong second season with the Braves. He has pitched in 38 games out of the Atlanta bullpen, posting a 3-1 record with three saves, a 2.83 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 35 innings. Minter recorded a 1.46 ERA in June, yielding just two runs on five hits and one walk while striking out 14 in 12.1 innings. He logged a .128 opponent batting average in the month while registering four holds.

Tyler Naquin – Cleveland Indians
Naquin has appeared in 43 games for the AL Central leading Indians, batting .286 (32-for-114) with 12 runs, five doubles, two home runs and 16 RBI. He has smacked two doubles and driven in three runs since coming off the DL in the middle of June.

Ross Stripling – Los Angeles Dodgers
With the Dodgers' rotation decimated with injuries, Stripling has stepped up as a strong starter. He went 3-1 in his five starts in June, posting a 2.48 ERA and .243 opponent batting average. With his first three outings of June he recorded victories to win six consecutive starts. He is receiving strong consideration for an MLB All-Star Game spot, posting a 6-2 record with a 2.27 ERA, 1.16 WHIP and 96 strikeouts in 83.1 innings. He leads the National League in strikeout-to-walk ratio (7.385) and ranks eighth in strikeouts per nine innings (10.37).

Michael Wacha – St. Louis Cardinals
Wacha has started 15 games, posting an 8-2 record with a 3.20 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 84.1 innings. He made four starts in June, before going on the DL, posting a 2-2 record with a .225 opponent batting average and 4.64 ERA. In his first start of the month, he allowed just one hit and two walks while striking out eight in a win against the Pirates, taking a no-hitter into the ninth inning.

Alex Wilson – Detroit Tigers
Wilson has appeared in 28 games out of the Tigers bullpen, recording eight holds and a 3.94 ERA. He has racked up 21 strikeouts and a 1.156 WHIP in 32.0 innings. The northpaw was solid in June, posting a 3.00 ERA and three holds in 11 appearances.
