COLLEGE STATION, Texas – July wrapped up with five Aggies on Major League Baseball rosters. The list includes A.J. Minter (Atlanta Braves), Tyler Naquin (Cleveland Indians), Ross Stripling (Los Angeles Dodgers), Michael Wacha (St. Louis Cardinals) and Alex Wilson (Detroit Tigers).

Highlights from the month include Stripling pitching in his first MLB All-Star Game, Minter logging four saves and Wilson allowing just one run in 9.1 innings of relief.

A.J. Minter – Atlanta Braves
Minter continues his strong second season with the Braves. He has worked in 46 games out of the Atlanta bullpen, posting a 3-2 record with six saves, a 2.98 ERA and 49 strikeouts in 42.1 innings. He logged four saves in July as the Braves clawed to within a half game of first place in the National League Eastern Division to end the month.

Tyler Naquin – Cleveland Indians
Naquin has appeared in 61 games for the AL Central leading Indians, batting .264 (46-for-174) with 22 runs, seven doubles, three home runs and 23 RBI. He had a pair of three-RBI games in July before he was placed on the disabled list for the second time in 2018.

Ross Stripling – Los Angeles Dodgers
Stripling was selected to the National League roster for the MLB All-Star Game and he pitched 1.2 innings in the NL's 8-6 loss. Stripling is 8-3 on the season with a 2.68 ERA, a 1.135 WHIP and 119 strikeouts in 104.0 innings. He leads the National League with a 7.93 strikeout-to-walk ratio and ranks second in the NL in ERA.

Michael Wacha – St. Louis Cardinals
Wacha spent all of July on the disabled list, but he is expected to return to the rotation the middle of August. He has started 15 games, posting an 8-2 record with a 3.20 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 84.1 innings. Wacha's ERA would rank in the top 10 in the National League, but his stint on the DL has him short of the innings pitched needed to qualify.

Alex Wilson – Detroit Tigers
Wilson has appeared in 37 games out of the Tigers bullpen, recording eight holds and a 3.24 ERA. He has racked up 27 strikeouts and a 0.984 WHIP in 41.2 innings. The northpaw was phenomenal in July, allowing just one run on four hits while striking out six in 9.2 innings of relief. He logged a 1-0 record with a 0.93 ERA and 0.414 WHIP in his nine outings.
