COLLEGE STATION – Former Texas A&M Equestrian All-American Avery Ellis competes at the American Quarter Horse Association (AQHA) Collegiate Horsemanship Championship beginning Monday, August 6 in Oklahoma City.

The preliminaries take place on August 6, and the finals are scheduled for August 7 with exhibitors competing with American Quarter Horses donated by AQHA Professional Horsemen.

Ellis is one of eight riders representing the National Collegiate Equestrian Association (NCEA) and joins eight other riders representing the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association.

The College Station native led the Aggies with 14 wins in Horsemanship and earned four Most Outstanding Player honors during the 2017-18 campaign. The senior was named a NCEA First Team All-American and was voted as SEC Co-Horsemanship Rider of the Year.
