COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M senior goalkeeper Cosette Morché was tabbed the SEC Defensive Player of the Week, the league announced Monday.

Morché, a senior from Lawrenceville, Ga., made program history leading Texas A&M to four shutouts to start a season for the first time in school annals. She stonewalled BYU with five saves as the Aggies weathered a 19-15 shot deficit. Morché added a save in Sunday's victory against San Diego. She anchored the backline to a pair of victories in precarious situations with A&M nursing 1-0 leads heading into the 84th minute of both contests.

On the season, Morché is unscathed through 360 minutes of action. She has eight saves on the year. In her two seasons at Texas A&M, after transferring from Louisiana-Lafayette, Morché is 22-2-2 with a 0.63 goals-against average and 12 shutouts.

For her career, Morché ranks 14th among active players in goalkeeper minutes (5,201) and saves (267) and 19th in shutouts (18).

The Aggies return to action Friday when they host the Oklahoma Sooners in an 8 p.m. contest at Ellis Field. The match will be broadcast nationwide on the SEC Network.
