Krajicek and Withrow Win at US Open

NEW YORK CITY, New York – Texas A&M men's tennis All-Americans Jackson Withrow and Austin Krajicek claimed doubles victories in the first round of 2018 US Open Wednesday afternoon. The doubles draw continues Thursday at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York City, New York.
 
Krajicek and partner, Tennys Sandgren, topped Yoni Erlich and Aisam-ul-Haq Qureshi in the first round in straight sets and are set to take on the winner of 13th-seeded Julio Peralta and Horacio Zeballos or Frederik Nielson and Joe Salisbury. Withrow and Matthew Ebden bested Filip Krajinovic and Viktor Troicki in the round of 64, 6-3, 6-2, and will face 15th-seeded Rohan Bopanna and Edouard Roger-Vasselin, Thursday.
 
Patrick Kypson earned a wildcard into the field by winning the Kalamazoo doubles championship last month in Michigan. The 2018 All-American dropped a three-setter alongside Danny Thomas against last season's US Open runner-up and 10^th seeded Feliciano Lopez and Marc Lopez, 4-6, 6-2, 6-4.
