COLLEGE STATION, Texas – The Texas A&M Aggies' 2019 SEC Baseball slate commences March 15-17 with a home series against the Vanderbilt Commodores and a road set versus the Kentucky Wildcats on March 22-24.
Â
Texas A&M and Vanderbilt have enjoyed a lively rivalry since the Aggies' joined the SEC for the 2013 campaign. The Maroon & White own a 9-7 edge in the series, including a victory in the opening round of last year's SEC Tournament. The last time the Commodores visited Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park, Texas A&M won two out of three, including a no-hitter pitched by Kyle Simonds in the series finale.
Â
The Aggies' trek to Lexington will be the first since 2015 when heavy rains visited the Bluegrass State. The inclement weather trimmed the series down to a Sunday doubleheader with the Maroon & White winning both of the 7-inning games. The Wildcats will be playing in a newly minted stadium due for completion prior to the 2019 campaign.
Â
All SEC series are subject to a shift to a Thursday-Saturday series as warranted for facilitating television broadcasts.
Â
Texas A&M finished the 2018 campaign with a 40-22 mark, making their 34th NCAA Championship appearance overall and their 12th in a row. The Aggies' return 17 letterwinners and six starting position players for the 2019 season.
