Auburn and South Carolina Slated for SEC Week Five and Six

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – For weeks five and six of the 2019 SEC Baseball schedule, the Texas A&M Aggies spend the middle of April hosting the Auburn Tigers and traveling to play the South Carolina Gamecocks.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – For weeks five and six of the 2019 SEC Baseball schedule, the Texas A&M Aggies spend the middle of April hosting the Auburn Tigers and traveling to play the South Carolina Gamecocks.
 
The three-game set against Auburn is slated for April 12-14. The trip to Columbia has the Aggies playing at Founders Park on April 19-21, with a possible shift up a day to Thursday-Saturday currently in the works for Easter weekend.
 
Auburn and South Carolina are both coming off campaigns in which they came one game away from going to Omaha. In game three of their Super Regional, Auburn lost in to Florida, 3-2, in 11 innings. South Carolina was bested by Arkansas in its Super Regional.
 
The Aggies are 11-8 all-time against Auburn with all of the games coming since Texas A&M joined the SEC prior to the 2013 season. The last time the teams played, John Doxakis stymied the Tigers, allowing just one run on two hits while striking out 10 in 7.1 innings to send A&M to the 2018 SEC Tournament semifinal. The Aggies have won the last two series played in College Station, in 2015 and '17.
 
Texas A&M was swept in their first series at Founders Park in 2013, but won two of three in the last trip to Columbia in 2016.
 
All SEC series are subject to a shift to a Thursday-Saturday series as warranted for facilitating television broadcasts.
 
Texas A&M finished the 2018 campaign with a 40-22 mark, making their 34th NCAA Championship appearance overall and their 12th in a row. The Aggies' return 17 letterwinners and six starting position players for the 2019 season.
