COLLEGE STATION – The Texas A&M equestrian team is ranked third in the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Preseason Poll, the NCEA Selection Committee announced Wednesday.

The Aggies, who are coming off a semifinal appearance at the NCEA Championships last season, return 11 starters from a year ago, including All-Americans Rebekah Chenelle (Fences & Flat), Caroline Dance (Fences), Ashley Davidson (Horsemanship) and Kalee McCann (Reining) as well as SEC Co-Freshman Horsemanship Rider of the Year, Alex Albright.

Defending national champion Auburn sits atop the rankings followed by Georgia, while Oklahoma State and TCU round out the top five.

SMU is ranked sixth, preceding Baylor, South Carolina, Fresno State and UT Martin to close out the rankings.

The Aggies show in their annual Maroon & White Scrimmage Sept. 21, before hosting Oklahoma State on Sep. 28 at 11 a.m. to begin the 2018-19 campaign.

Texas A&M hosts the SEC Championship March 29-30 at the Hildebrand Equine Complex, and the NCEA Championships take place April 17-20 at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas.
