COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- Texas A&M freshman Shane Casas and three former Texas A&M standouts, Lisa Bratton, Bethany Galat and Sarah Gibson, have been named to national teams by USA Swimming.
Casas was one of 67 swimmers named to the 2018-2019 USA National Junior Team, qualifying in a national-best four events. Casas posted personal bests of 54.51 in the 100m backstroke, 52.69 in the 100m Butterfly, a 49.93 in the 100m freestyle and 1:58.65 in the 200m Backstroke.
Bratton, Galat and Gibson, all of whom previously swam for Team USA, were named to the 2018-19 USA Swimming senior national team.
Bratton, a member of the women's team from 2014-18, took third in the 200m back at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials and won gold in the 200m back at the 2015 World University Games.
Galat, who swam for the women's team from 2014-18, won the 200m breast and 400m IM at the 2016 U.S. Open, where she also was second in the 200m IM and third in the 100m breast
Gibson, who swam for the Aggies from 2013-17, was a finalist in the 100m Fly at the 2016 U.S. Olympic Trials, she also was a Silver medalist in the 800m free relay and gold medalist in the 200m medley relay and 400m medley relay at the 2016 FINA World Championships (25m).
