Texas A&M needs three points to stay in striking distance of first-place Vanderbilt who leads the league with 18 points with a 6-0-0 SEC record. The Aggies are in third place with 13 points (4-1-1) while Mississippi State tied for seventh place with 7 points (2-3-1). In their two previous games against Top 25 teams this season, the Texas A&M has won by a combined 7-0 margin – then-No. 9 Santa Clara (4-0) and then-No. 18 Kansas (3-0).

Texas A&M enjoy the luxury of having one of the most veteran goalkeepers in the nation minding the net. Morché ranks among the active leaders in shutouts (11th - 23), minutes played (11th - 6,211:50) and saves (16th - 302). She boasts a 1.06 career goals-against average, including a 0.68 mark in her two seasons at Texas A&M. Morché is 31-3-3 (.878) all-time as the Aggies' goalkeeper.
