No. 5 Women's Swimming Leads No. 17 Ohio State 104-63 After Day One

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The No. 5 Women's Texas A&M swimming and diving team leads No. 17 Ohio State, 104-63 after the first day of competition at the McCorkle Aquatic Center.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - The No. 5 Women's Texas A&M swimming and diving team leads No. 17 Ohio State, 104-63 after the first day of competition at the McCorkle Aquatic Center.
 
"Today was a solid day of racing, this was the first meet of the year and we are very pleased how we raced today," head coach Steve Bultman said. "We look to come back just as strong tomorrow."
 
Texas A&M captain Sydney Pickrem had her first individual wins of the year in the 200 yard IM (1:58.64) and the 200 yard backstroke (1:57.95).
 
In the 100 yard freestyle, Claire Rasmus and Katie Portz tied for the individual victory, swimming a 50.76. Taylor Pike won the 200 yard butterfly (1:57.99).
 
Anna Belousova came out on top with a gutsy individual performance in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:01.89). Freshman Kylie Powers finished third (1:03.47) in her Texas A&M debut.
 
Texas A&M won the 400 yard medley relay easily with Pickrem, Belousova, Taylor Pike and Katie Portz (3:38.74).

In the 3-meter diving, Charlye Campbell (311.25) and Haley Allen (306.40) finished 2-3 in the day one competition.
 
The Aggie women are back in action tomorrow as they hit the pool at 8 a.m. CT for the final day of the dual meet. Live results are available at OhioStateBuckeyes.com and live streaming is available on BTN2Go.
