Quarterback Kellen Mond was also recognized as an honorable mention by the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award.

Sternberger, who has been named a midseason All-American by a multitude of outlets, hauled in seven passes for 145 yards and a touchdown against the Gamecocks. The junior college transfer from Oklahoma A&M CC leads all FBS tight ends with 496 yards and is tied for first in touchdowns at six, which established a new school record for the most touchdowns in a single season by a tight end. Sternberger leads the A&M offense in receptions (29), yards and touchdowns.

Mond completed 25-of-37 attempts for 353 yards, his second 300-yard passing game of the season, and a touchdown with no interceptions in the Aggies' 26-23 victory. He became the 17th Texas A&M passer to surpass the 3,000-yard mark in career passing yardage.

This is the second honor by the Earl Campbell Tyler Rose Award for Sternberger as he was named an honorable mention following the Aggies' upset-victory over then-No. 13 Kentucky, and Mond, who was an honorable mention following the Clemson game.
