COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.- Texas A&M's Lisa Bratton, Jorie Caneta, Claire Rasmus and Jonathan Tybur were named to the 52-member squad that will represent the United States at the 2019 World University Games in Naples, Italy.
Bratton, an eight-time All-American who completed her eligibility in the spring, was selected to race in the 200-meter backstroke, after finishing fourth in the 200-yard breaststroke at the 2018 NCAA Championship and holds the Texas A&M school record with a 1:49.83 at last season's SEC Championship.
Caneta, a three-time All-American who completed her eligibility in the spring, competes in the 50-meter and 100-meter breaststroke. Caneta won the 2017 SEC Championship in the 100-yard breaststroke and has a best time of 58.85 in the event.
Rasmus, a senior this season, was selected to swim in the 800-meter freestyle relay. She was a part of Texas A&M's school-record-setting and SEC Championship 800-yard freestyle relay team in 2018 with a time of 6:55.60.
Tybur, another swimmer who completed his eligibility in the spring, was selected to swim in the 200-meter breaststroke, after posting the SEC's top time in the 200-yard breaststroke in 2018 with a 1:51.31.
