ALPHARETTA, Ga.- Texas A&M's Brandon Smith, Walker Lee and Max Miller all shot under par to lead the No. 9 men's golf team in the second round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational Saturday.

The Aggies sit at even par for the tournament, after a 2-over 290 in Saturday's round. After two trips around the Golf Club of Georgia, Texas A&M is in ninth place. No. 15 Clemson leads the tournament at 20-under par.

"We're just playing pretty mediocre golf right now," head coach JT Higgins said. "We do a lot of nice things, we make enough birdies that we should be competing, but then we're pretty sloppy around the green, not getting balls up and down that we should, and really not putting that great."

"I think we're a better team than how we've played really most of the fall, but especially this tournament," Higgins added. "We got one more round left before we shut it down for the winter, and sure would like to go out and play to our potential."

Smith is 2-under and tied for 17th place, after carding a 70 on the par 72 / 7,017-yard track. Smith had four birdies on the day, and played the last 12 holes of his round bogey-free. Justin Suh of USC leads the tournament at 10-under par.

Lee posted a 1-under 71, turning in his third scorecard of at least even par in his last four rounds, to move to 2-over and a tie for 40th place. Playing as an individual, Max Miller posted his best competitive round since January with a 1-under 71, and is tied for 40th at 2-over.

Sam Bennett is at even par after 36 holes, after a 3-over 75 on Saturday to tie for 28th. Chandler Phillips is a stroke behind Bennett, at 1-over par in 35th place, shooting a 3-over 75 Saturday. Reese Ramsey carded a 2-over 74 and enters the final round in 64th place at 7-over par.

The Aggies tee off in the final round of the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate Invitational at 7:30 a.m. CT Sunday. Live scoring is available on golfstat.com and live updates are available on twitter at @aggiemensgolf.
