AUSTIN, Texas- Texas A&M women's golf team battled through a second day of tough conditions at the Betsy Rawls Invitational Saturday. Ava Schwienteck led the Aggies individually for the second straight day.

"Today was difficult for our team," head coach Andrea Gaston said. "We made a few birdies early, and thought we were starting to gain momentum. The conditions were still difficult, with the wind and the cold, we lost too many shots on the back nine."

"This course has been a great test for our team," Gaston added. "Hopefully, we can get off to a good start tomorrow and finish strong."

The Aggies shot a 309 at the University of Texas Golf Club and are tied for eighth place in a field that features nine top-50 squads. Texas A&M, at 41-over, is only four strokes behind No. 1 Alabama for seventh. Host No. 6 Texas and No. 16 Kent State co-lead the tournament at 1-under with the Longhorns' Hailee Cooper leading individually at 5-under.
