Women's Golf Prepares For Final Tournament Of The Fall Season

SAN MARCOS, Texas- The Texas A&M women's golf team tees it up for the final time in the fall season at 8:30 a.m. Sunday in the Jim West Challenge, hosted by Texas State at Kissing Tree Golf Club.
Ava Schwienteck led the Aggies October 19-21 at the Betsy Rawls Invitational, shooting a 4-over 220, including a final-round 70, to finish in a tie for 14th. She's joined in the lineup by Amber Park, who holds a team-best 72.25 scoring average—and two top-10 finishes—on the season.
Courtney Dow returns to the lineup, holding a 74.26 stroke average—the sixth-best all-time at Texas A&M—and coming off a season-best 25th place finish. Brooke Tyree has a 74.50 stroke average eight rounds into her career, which tracks as sixth-best freshman campaign in school history. Senior Chloe Velasco is making her second appearance of the season at the par 72 / 6,185-yard track in San Marcos.
In addition to the Aggies, No. 21 Miami, No. 22 Florida State, Houston, Memphis, Mississippi State, Missouri, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Ole Miss, Southern Miss, TCU, Texas State, Texas Tech and UNLV comprise the 15-school field.
After this 54-hole event that runs through Monday, the Aggies return to action February 18-19 at the Moon Golf Invitational in Melbourne, Fla.
