BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Sophomore guard TJ Starks of the Texas A&M men's basketball team has been named to the Coaches Preseason All-SEC Second Team ahead of Wednesday's 2018-19 season opener. Starks is coming off of a strong finish to an impressive freshman campaign, capping his debut off by being named to the SEC All-Freshman Team by the league's coaches.

Starks saw the court in 32 games last season, starting the last 15 contests of the year. After earning the starting job in late January, the Dallas, Texas, native tripled his production, upping his averages to 15 points and three assists per game. Starks shot 44-percent from the field and 39-percent from three in that span.

The Aggies open the season Wednesday, Nov. 7 at 8:30 p.m. as they host Savannah State in a doubleheader with the women's team. Tickets for the season opener are can be purchased here. Fans are advised that parking costs $5 for all doubleheader gamedays but a men's basketball season parking pass allows entry to the parking lots for all games. Fans are encouraged to stay for both games with their purchased ticket, which serves as a general admission ticket to the non-purchased game.
