Trio of Aggies Named to Pan American Games Roster

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- A trio of Texas A&M swimmers were named to Team USA's roster for the 2019 Pan American Games, which will be contested in Lima, Peru next summer.

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. --- A trio of Texas A&M swimmers were named to Team USA's roster for the 2019 Pan American Games, which will be contested in Lima, Peru next summer.
 
USA Swimming announced that 2018-19 senior Claire Rasmus, along with former Texas A&M standouts Bethany Galat and Sarah Gibson were named to the elite roster, which will represent the United States in the pool competition at the Pan American Games Aug. 6-10, 2019.
 
Rasmus, from New Orleans, La., is the defending Southeastern Conference Champion in the 200-yard freestyle and has helped the Aggies' 800 freestyle relay to the SEC title the past two seasons. The Aggies' school record holder in the 200 free, Rasmus is a nine-time NCAA All-American.
 
Galat finished her collegiate career in 2018 as a 14-time All-America and the school record holder in the 200 breaststroke. The 2018 NCAA runner-up in the 200 breaststroke, Galat was the silver medalist in the 200-meter breaststroke at the 2017 and 2018 World Championships.
 
Gibson, who finished her collegiate career in 2017, was a 15-time All-American and seven-time SEC Champion. The current school record holder in the 100-yard butterfly and with three relays, Gibson was the CoSIDA Academic All-American of the Year in 2017 and was Texas A&M's first-ever winner of the SEC's prestigious H. Boyd McWhorter Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
