No. 6 Texas A&M Blanks SFA Behind Harrington’s Gem
Feb 14, 2018 | Softball
COLLEGE STATION, Texas -- The No. 6 Texas A&M softball team defeated SFA, 4-0, behind a one-hit complete game by Trinity Harrington Wednesday evening at the Aggie Softball Complex to improve to 5-0 on the season.
Harrington (2-0) fanned five and allowed only one hit to earn her second victory and first shutout of the season. The Greeley, Colo., native retired the first 12 batters she faced and only allowed five baserunners.
Offensively, Keeli Milligan, Tori Vidales and Ashley Walters each turned in multi-hit performances, and Erica Russell notched her first extra-base hit of the season with a double that bounced off the top of the wall in left. Milligan recorded her 79th and 80th career stolen bases and is now three swipes away from passing Jamie Hinshaw (2005-08) for third all-time in school history.
KEY INNINGS

Tori Vidales delivered a RBI single to left field scoring Milligan for the first run of the game. Two at bats later, Alderink crossed the plate on a Riley Sartain sacrifice fly.
B2 | The Maroon & White added an insurance run in the second as Erica Russell blasted a double that bounced off the wall in left field and was pushed across by an Alderink single down the right field line.
B4 | Milligan singled with a blooper to left field and moved into scoring position with her second stolen base of the day. Vidales plated Milligan with a single to left, her 11th RBI of the season.
T5 | SFA (3-2) threatened as their first three baserunners of the game got on base via an error, single and hit by pitch. With two outs and the bases juiced, Harrington got out of the jam as Riley Sartain made a diving stop and flipped the ball to Kristen Cuyos at third for the final out.

WHAT THEY SAID
Texas A&M Head Coach Jo Evans
On Trinity Harrington's performance in the circle…
"She looked great tonight. I thought that she set the tone tonight. Her rhythm, timing and pitch location looked sharp; a lot sharper than she did in her start last week. It was really nice to see her comfortable on the mound. She threw 70 pitches all night long and she could have kept throwing. I'm really proud of her and the way she played tonight."
