
Texas A&M’s Kirk selected by Arizona Cardinals

ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas A&M junior wide receiver Christian Kirk was selected in the second round (No. 47 overall) of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Arizona Cardinals on Friday.
Kirk, from Scottsdale, Ariz., finished his illustrious career as a three-time first-team All-SEC selection. He matched or broke school records for career punt return average (22.0), career return touchdowns (6), career punt return touchdowns (5), season punt return TDs (3 in 2016), season punt return average (24.4 in 2015) and single game punt return TDs (2 vs. New Mexico State in 2016).
Last season, Kirk led the team with 71 catches for 919 yards and 10 touchdowns as a wide receiver, and he also led the way in all-purpose yardage (1,631), punt return yards (191) and kickoff returns (490). He was the only SEC player to have both a punt return for a touchdown and a kickoff return for a touchdown in 2017. In the final game of his career, Kirk set Texas A&M bowl records with 13 catches for 189 yards and three scores against Wake Forest in the Belk Bowl.
