No. 4 Texas A&M Opens Spring Slate at South Dakota State

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 4 Texas A&M equestrian team begins the spring portion of the schedule Saturday with a 9 a.m. meet at South Dakota State inside the DeHaan Equestrian Center.

COLLEGE STATION – The No. 4 Texas A&M equestrian team begins the spring portion of the schedule Saturday with a 9 a.m. meet at South Dakota State inside the DeHaan Equestrian Center.
 
The Aggies closed out the fall with a 4-2 (1-2 SEC) record with all four wins coming against ranked opponents. The Maroon & White topped No. 4 Oklahoma State, 12-5, No. 6 TCU, 9-8, No. 8 South Carolina, 9-8, and No. 10 Fresno State, 17-3.
 
Rebekah Chenelle leads the Hunter Seat squad with nine combined victories including four in Equitation on the Flat and a team-high five wins in Equitation over Fences. Rhian Murphy ties Chenelle for the team lead in Flat as Caroline Boyle and Caroline Dance have each added three victories.
 
In Horsemanship, Sarah Orsak is 5-0-1, while Alex Albright is 4-1-1. Kyra Bouma, Katie Conklin and Ashley Davidson recorded three wins during the fall season. Darby Gardner, Marissa Harrell and Courtney Yohey lead the Reining squad with three victories apiece.
 
South Dakota State enters the meet with a 0-1 (0-1 UEC) record, falling to UT Martin, 9-5. The Jackrabbits defeated Sweet Briar College, 6-3, in a Hunter Seat only competition and Minnesota-Crookston, 11-4, in a scrimmage.
