The Aggies concluded the regular season at 23-6, the program's best mark since 2010-11. With a 12-4 conference record, the Aggies earned the No. 3-seed and a double-bye in the SEC Tournament, the Aggies' best seed since 2016.

Kayla Wells and Ciera Johnson are Texas A&M's leading available scorers, as the Aggies are temporarily without the services of leading scorer Chennedy Carter, who will miss the conference tournament with a fractured finger. Wells averages 14.7 points per game, making her the most-improved scorer in the Southeastern Conference, increasing her average 11.9 points from last season. Johnson averages 11.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game, posting nine double-doubles this season, moving up to seventh on Texas A&M's career list.

The Aggies are 9-5 in seven SEC Tournaments since joining the league, winning the event in 2013. Texas A&M has reached the quarterfinals in all seven seasons, and the semifinals four times.

Auburn (22-8) features a balanced attack, as four of the five starters for the 6th-seeded Tigers average at least 10.8 points per game.

Texas A&M has never lost to Auburn, holding a 12-0 record against the Tigers. The Aggies defeated Auburn 69-67 (Jan. 25) this season.
