Women's Golf's Park Tied For Second After MountainView Collegiate First Round

SADDLEBROOKE, Ariz. – Texas A&M's Amber Park birdied four of her last seven holes to tie for second after the first round of the MountainView Collegiate at The Preserve Golf Club.

SADDLEBROOKE, Ariz. – Texas A&M's Amber Park birdied four of her last seven holes to tie for second after the first round of the MountainView Collegiate at The Preserve Golf Club.
 
Park finished with a 3-under 69 on the par 72 / 6,218-yard course, and is one stroke behind individual leader, Texas State's Geraldine Wong.
 
Texas A&M shot even-par 288 and is in fifth place, six shots behind tournament leader Texas State. The Aggies co-led the first round with 20 birdies, seven of which came from Park.
 
Brooke Tyree turned in a 1-under 71, her sixth par-or-better round of the season. Tyree's finish was nearly as strong as Park's, birding three of the last seven holes.
 
Courtney Dow and Katie Finley are tied for 37th after shooting 2-over 74s on Friday. Ava Schwienteck is tied for 54th after shooting a 4-over 76.
 
Texas A&M tees off in the second of three rounds at 10:40 a.m. CT Saturday.
