COLLEGE STATION – Texas A&M Softball steps out of conference play this weekend as it hosts BYU in a two-game series at Davis Diamond beginning Friday.
 
Friday's game is slated to begin at 6 p.m. with Saturday's contest scheduled for a 2 p.m. first pitch. Both games can be seen on SEC Network + with Matt Simon and Tori Vidales on the call.

Texas A&M is 20-13 on the year after sweeping Wednesday's doubleheader against Sam Houston State.
 
The Aggies compiled 20 hits against the Bearkats, as Baylee Klingler recorded four and Kayla Garcia and Blake-Ann Fritsch had three apiece. In game two, the Aggies rallied with a four-run sixth inning to defeat Sam Houston, 5-4.
 
For the season, the Aggies are led offensively by Kelbi Fortenberry and Payton McBride, who top the team with .396 and .342 batting averages, respectively. Riley Sartain leads the team in multiple offensive categories, including home runs (6), walks (16), doubles (7) and slugging percentage (.624) and is tied for the team lead in total bases (53).
 
In the circle, McBride paces the pitching staff with eight wins. Kendall Potts has tallied seven victories as Kayla Poynter has added three and Hannah Mayo has recorded two.
 
BYU enters with a 13-16 record and are led offensively by Rylee Jensen, who tops the team with a .411 average and has added five home runs, seven doubles and 16 RBI. Autumn Moffat holds a 5-8 ledger in the circle with a 2.68 ERA and four complete games.
 
Texas A&M and BYU have previously met 14 times with the Aggies holding a 14-6 advantage. The two teams last squared off at the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic in 2017 with the Maroon & White prevailing, 11-1.
