Wells’ Game-Winner Sends No. 15 Texas A&M To Third Straight SEC Semifinal

GREENVILLE, S.C.– Kayla Wells made a game winning jumper with five seconds to play, sending No. 15 Texas A&M to its third consecutive conference semifinal, defeating Auburn, 64-62, in the quarterfinals of the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.

GREENVILLE, S.C.– Kayla Wells made a game winning jumper with five seconds to play, sending No. 15 Texas A&M to its third consecutive conference semifinal, defeating Auburn, 64-62, in the quarterfinals of the SEC Women's Basketball Tournament at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
 
Wells had a Texas A&M SEC Tournament record 28 points, to lead the No. 3-seed Aggies (24-6). N'dea Jones had her eighth double double with 12 points and 13 rebounds. Ciera Johnson added 12 points and eight rebounds.
 
Jada Walton played a career-high 33 minutes and nabbed a career-high four steals—the most for a Texas A&M player in an SEC Tournament game.
 
No. 6-seed Auburn (22-9) was led by Janiah McKay with 17 points.
 
Auburn led 32-28 at halftime in a game that featured nine lead changes and 10 ties. Neither team led by more than three points in the fourth quarter. Abigayle Jackson gave the Tigers their last lead with 1:36 to play, but A&M's Jones tied the game at 62 on the ensuing possession to set up Wells' game-winner.
 
The Aggies shot 59.0% from the field—the team's highest total against an SEC opponent this season.
 
The Aggies continue to the SEC Semifinals against Arkansas on March 9th at approximately 6pm.
