Aggies Selected As No. 2 Seed for NCEA Championships

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M Equestrian was selected as the nation's No. 2 seed for the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Championships held at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas April 17-20, the NCEA Selection Committee announced Tuesday.

COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Texas A&M Equestrian was selected as the nation's No. 2 seed for the National Collegiate Equestrian Association Championships held at the Extraco Events Center in Waco, Texas April 17-20, the NCEA Selection Committee announced Tuesday.
 
The Aggies (10-5) take on seventh-seeded South Carolina as the current format, now in its second year, features the top eight teams for the overall championship.
 
Additionally, the expanded NCEA National Championship format includes team-seeded bracket for the four event titles.
 
Texas A&M earned the No. 3 seed in Equitation on the Flat and will face UC Davis in the first round. The Flat squad compiled an 8-5-1 record on the year and previously defeated UC Davis, 4-0, on Feb. 16.
 
In Equitation over Fences, Texas A&M registered an 8-6 ledger and will also face UC Davis. In the teams' regular season meeting, Texas A&M prevailed, 3-1.
 
The Aggies' Horsemanship squad was named the No. 2 seed after registering a 10-2-1 record and receive a first-round bye. The Maroon & White face the winner of the TCU-Delaware State matchup.
 
Texas A&M defends its NCEA Reining National Championship as the No. 5 seed and will square off against UC Davis. The Maroon & White tallied eight wins and defeated UC Davis, 3-1, in the previous meeting.
