COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Ally Watt's brace led the Texas A&M Aggies to a 2-1 victory over the Baylor Bears Wednesday evening at Ellis Field as the Maroon & White wrapped up their spring slate.

Watt found the back of the net in the 20th and 61st minute to pace the Aggies. Her first goal was set up by a booming punt from goalkeeper Jordan Burbank. A high bounce leaped over the Baylor back line allowing Watt to split a pair of defenders and chase the service and put it past the keeper from 10 yards out.

The match was played in three 30-minute periods. Thirty-three seconds into the final period, Watt blew past Baylor's left back around the flank to get to a one-on-one situation with the keeper. She beat the Bears' netminder from the right side of the six-yard box into the far side-netting to break a 1-1 tie.

Burbank and Shantel Hutton split time in goal, combining for four saves.

The offensive stats were split with Baylor owning the edge in shots (13-11) and corner kicks (8-4) and Texas A&M owning the 6-5 edge in shots-on-goal.

TEXAS A&M QUOTES
Head Coach G Guerrieri
On the match...
"This was a great spring game. Baylor, who won the Big 12 last year, of course is going to be a solid opponent for us. It's a match the really helps us with our preparation for what we want to be in the fall. All of our games this spring have been about development. It's about our players getting better from one day to the next."

Summarizing the spring workouts...
"The spring has been great. This is the time of the year where we put our emphasis on our players getting better individually – educating them, making them stronger, making them more agile, making them more comfortable on with the ball technically. All of those things add up to making us better for the coming fall season. I feel good about how the team has come together. You can see the improvement in each and every player."

On Ally Watt...
"It's great to have Ally back. We've missed her for most of our spring games because of her work with the United States U23 National Team. You can tell how strong we become when she becomes the exclamation point at the end of our attack."
